In 2017 I asked a commercial painter based in Beirut to paint a deserted landscape after the outbreak of war in Syria. This landscape was filmed and broadcasted by all Lebanese TV channels during a day of prisoner exchange between the Lebanese army and the Islamic state. Five copies of the painting were later sold to unknown tourists in the capital.
